• Challenges: Major underground services relocation impacted roadworks construction program followed by COVID. This impacted the community facility construction program. Price escalation that occurred over multi-year project impacted on available budget.
• How we overcame the challenges: Collaborative negotiations with the civil contractor mitigated cost increases due to services relocations. Staging the project allowed tailored risk management of discrete elements of the project. Rescoping of the design with client and design team achieved the project objectives without increasing budget.
